Ahhh the new LCD soundsystem album. After the last one was released I went all DFA and tried to get everything they'd ever created including remixes and compilations. Now that I've had a bit of time to calm down I can review the album without my DFA tinted sunglasses.
However try as I might I can't find anything wrong with this album and it may be even better than the last one. It seems to flow alot better than it's predecessor staying in the same post-punk-funk-electronica most of the way through and rarely deviating. That may sound like a bad thing but trust me it's not. Murphy has created an updated version of the funky 4/4 beats that drove the talking heads on "remain in light" albeit an updated version that makes me want to dance like a fool.
I'll admit I didn't like it that much on first listen, apart from the rediculously catchy "someone great" and "all of my friends". But after 3 or 4 listens I was hooked.
Overall its a brilliant album and is worthy of a purchase.
